Three ways to better your Virtual church experience

I think it’s safe to say that the virtual church experience can be draining. Many of us have Zoom fatigue from the work week of meetings and then to have to do church online can be tiring. For some of us, virtual church may hinder our ability to commune with Jesus how we usually would if we were in the church building, therefore making the virtual church experience constricting. Look, we understand completely. It’s tough but it’s what we’re given right no, so let’s try to make the most of it.

Here’s three things you can do to better your virtual church experience:

1.     Get up and move

We’re not saying that you have to get up and get dressed, only to sit in the living room (although if you want to, you can do that cause that’s your business! Shoutout to Auntie Tab!) But seriously, set an alarm to get up before the service starts. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. Get “ready” for the service.

2.     Avoid distractions

I know it’s weird to just watch people sing on a screen, we get it. So try to engage in the worship experience.  That may mean though putting the phone down and avoiding any other distractions present. I know, bummer! But you’ll be able to get so much more from the service by immersing yourself in the worship.

3.     Take notes

I know we are such a digital age but go back to the basics and take notes from the sermon. We love to not only take notes on what’s being said but also we write down questions we may have and comments on what’s being preached. We create a holistic experience by writing down a prayer at the end of what really resonated with our spirit after the service.

How has virtual church been for you? Has your church gone back to in-person services? Comment down below your experience.
