Why you need to start juicing
As we kick off this new year in the right way, 99.9% of the world is looking to be more healthy. That can mean eating better, committing yourself to a workout routine, or a combination of both. Unfortunately though, some people are not aware of one of the easiest things you can do to help you achieve overall wellness. That thing my friends is juicing. Yep thats right!
Now of course you may know that you can buy freshly pressed juices from certain stores. Most health food stores have a ton of freshly pressed juices available. Also there are certain shops (feel free to check what’s in your area) that are dedicated to preparing fresh juices, along with a host of other healthy options. Though going out and picking up your juices definitely checks the convenience box, it doesn’t always check the affordable box. Considering the effort health stores or shops put into making the juices along with the branding, buying out right can eventually lead to a hefty bill. Now to each their own right? Because I’m not here to count anyone's coins buuuuut what if I told you there could be a cheaper and even more convenient option? Keep reading!
Literally all you need is a juicer and an array of fruits and vegetables. For the juicer, you will want one that gets the job done. There are a plethora of options out there but there are a few things you should be taking into account when purchasing - affordability, ease of use/clean, and functionality. Here is the link to the juicer I purchased, but feel free to do some research on what will work best for you.
You can have health and save your coins by making your juice at home. This has literally become my new obsession.
Now when it comes to what to juice, it truly depends on what floats your boat. There are tons of juice blends that you can do, but there are a few things to consider before throwing any and everything into your juicer. The first thing, and probably most important, is that you want to juice fruits and vegetables that are sturdy and thick enough in consistency. Fruits that typically juice well are apples, oranges, pineapples, etc. Some fruits that may not juice super well are bananas and any kind of berries. This is due to their “mushy'“ consistency.
I’ve tried so many different recipes recently (Pinterest has literally every recipe you could think of!) but my favorite has to be what I have deemed the “Rise and Shine”. This juice blend consists of:
6 tangerine oranges
4 Pink Lady apples
A bag of mini carrots
2 knobs of fresh ginger
Again, there’s tons to choose from but you this juice combination would be a great to do on your first try. It’s so sweet and refreshing!
So are you convinced yet that juicing is the way to go? I promise you sis, you won’t regret it! So go ahead and get your juicer, go get your fruits and veggies, and get to juicing! Here’s to treating our bodies better and saving mulaaaa all 2023!
